THE GARDENS & GROUNDS

The Gardens

Perched on a fertile basalt ridge, the Worrowing Homestead Gardens are a living masterpiece. They wrap seamlessly around the historic homestead, unfolding into avenues of ornamental pear, heritage camellias, wisteria, magnolias, and evergreen feature trees.

Unique garden rooms, framed by hedges and formal plantings, create tranquil pockets of colour and light - an artist’s palette of textures and seasonal change. From here, sweeping vistas extend to the estate’s lakes, paddocks, and native forests, fusing the elegance of European-inspired gardens with the grandeur of the Australian landscape.

Originally shaped by the Timms family and later expanded by the Robertsons, the gardens remain the centrepiece of Worrowing - a magnificent backdrop for weddings, celebrations, and life's beautiful moments.

The Grounds

The property features large stands of magnificent eucalypt, paperbark, spotted gum, turpentine  and ironbark trees rolling hillsides, open paddocks and a large lake giving it a parklife feel. Worrowing is an absolute haven for wildlife, with the estate boasting countless varieties of native flora and fauna for guests to experience and enjoy.

Beyond the homestead, the estate stretches across rolling hills, open paddocks, and stands of towering eucalypt, paperbark, spotted gum, turpentine, and ironbark trees. A large lake anchors the property, giving Worrowing a park-like atmosphere where guests can wander, relax, and reconnect with nature.

Worrowing is a haven for native flora and fauna. Hundreds of resident Eastern Grey Kangaroos and Red-necked Wallabies graze peacefully across the estate, delighting guests daily. The grounds are also home to sugar-gliders and possums, echidnas, turtles, owls (including the Southern Boobook, Tawny Frog-mouthed owl and Powerful Owl), King parrots, Yellow-tailed black cockatoos, Glossy Black Cockatoos, bowerbirds, lyrebirds, rosellas, lorikeets and a remarkable variety of species.

Rare flora such as the Jervis Bay Grevillea, Jervis Bay Leek Orchid, and Banksia Vincentia thrive here, adding to the estate’s unique ecological significance.

Our onsite apiaries produce Worrowing Pure Bush Honey, harvested from bees that roam freely across the estate’s coastal bushland and vast surrounds. Foraging mainly on Australian native flora, our bees create a pure and natural honey that captures the essence of Jervis Bay’s unique South Coast landscape.

Guests are invited to explore the gardens, wander the walking trails, and discover the beauty, tranquillity, and abundance of life that make Worrowing an unforgettable retreat.
