New Gallery Opening Celebrates Art, Community and Creativity at Worrowing Jervis Bay
Worrowing Jervis Bay is proud to announce the opening of The Melaleuca Gallery, a new gallery space dedicated to celebrating local and regional artists while creating a welcoming destination where visitors can experience art in a unique rural setting.
Following its official opening on Saturday, 5 July, The Melaleuca Gallery is now open to the public, inviting locals and visitors alike to discover a thoughtfully curated collection of works by talented artists from across the South Coast and beyond. Located within the natural surroundings of Worrowing Jervis Bay, The Melaleuca Gallery has been established to support both emerging and established artists by providing a beautiful and accessible space to exhibit and sell their work. The official opening on 5 July welcomed artists, supporters and members of the local community to celebrate the launch of the gallery and its vision of creating a permanent space dedicated to the arts in the Shoalhaven.
The Melaleuca Gallery’s inaugural exhibition, Outdoor Studios- Woollamia to Worrowing, showcases a striking new series of large-scale works by respected artist Randall Sinnamon. Created in his bush studio at Woollamia and, more recently, within the Melaleuca forest at Worrowing, the exhibition highlights the extraordinary diversity, detail and intricacy of the landscapes surrounding Jervis Bay. Through these works, Sinnamon captures the beauty and character of the natural environment that inspires both his practice and the setting of the gallery itself.
More than just a gallery, The Melaleuca Gallery has been created as a place for people to slow down and immerse themselves in the stories behind each artwork. The gallery will host rotating exhibitions, artist talks, workshops and community events throughout the year, as well as providing a unique setting for corporate events, private functions and gatherings.
The gallery is also designed to complement the broader Worrowing Jervis Bay experience. Guests staying at Worrowing’s onsite accommodation will be able to explore the gallery during their stay, adding an artistic and cultural dimension to their experience of Jervis Bay. The opportunity to stay amongst the natural landscape while experiencing local art creates a deeper connection to the region and its creative community.
The next stage of the development will see a coffee shop and retail space launch in September, offering guests and visitors another reason to spend time at The Melaleuca Gallery. The space will feature coffee and refreshments alongside a curated selection of retail goods.
As the first dedicated gallery of its kind within Jervis Bay, The Melaleuca Gallery aims to become a destination for both domestic and international visitors. By bringing together accommodation, art, nature, culture, hospitality and events in one setting, Worrowing hopes to encourage visitors to stay longer and immerse themselves in the unique character of Jervis Bay and the wider Shoalhaven region.

It celebrates creativity, supports local artists and provides another meaningful experience for visitors to enjoy while exploring our beautiful region.”
The addition of The Melaleuca Gallery expands Worrowing Jervis Bay’s offering beyond accommodation, weddings and events, further establishing the property as a destination that celebrates nature, creativity and community.
The Melaleuca Gallery is now open, Wednesday- Friday 10am- 2pm, Saturday 9am-12pm (some weekends will be closed for private events) with artworks available to view and purchase.
